If you are like the rest of us, you can be your own worst enemy.
This isn’t a conscious choice and we usually don’t know exactly why we do this to ourselves. If we could stop it we would, but for reasons that are unclear to us, we get stuck.
Fortunately there is a tool that can get you unstuck and out of frustrating patterns of limitation. Emotional Freedom Techniques is that tool. It is simply tapping on acupuncture points while verbalizing or just thinking about the specific issue. I want to give you an example of how this worked for a client of mine.
My client, I will call him Barney, wanted to address his resistance to studying, his inability to focus in class, and his animosity towards his fellow students and the program he was enrolled in. All of this was making his time in school very unpleasant and was getting in the way of him completing his educational goals.
“After we had been tapping for a short time he recalled a traumatic first day of middle school.”
This left a bad feeling for school in general and for his classmates. We kept tapping until the emotional charge around the old hurt and the current bad feelings were resolved. Barney now has no problem in school and really likes a class, that prior to the EFT, he hated and could not pay attention to. He no longer feels animosity towards his fellow students. As we were tapping another issue arose.
Barney is a writer and had been suffering from “writers block”. He found himself unable to organize his thoughts and move forward in constructing his story. What he wanted to write was inside of him but he couldn’t get it out. We did some EFT tapping and he reports that this is no longer an issue. If he feels any confusion arise, he taps on himself and things start flowing again.
We cleared up two really frustrating issues in one session and Barney came away with a effective tool that he can use anytime anywhere to help himself.
